Yes, you read right: guacamole and nachos, not the other way round. The nachos are one of the few products that El Volcancito Catering does not prepare itself. However, we still demand that they are of the highest quality, fresh and tasty. Of course, we are extremely enthusiastic about \u201cour\u201d nachos, but at Volcancito our hearts are even more passionate about guacamole, the famous avocado dip.<\/p>\n

The name guacamole refers to the main ingredient aguacate (originally ahuacatl), which means avocado. The name comes from the Aztec dialect Nahuatl, which is still spoken in parts of Mexico and Central America today. For simplicity, and to make pronunciation easier, the word was changed to \u201cavocado\u201d in old Spanish, although that is also not really a Spanish word. Like mangos, bananas and many other once-exotic fruits, dozens of avocado varieties are now grown for export. The consistency and taste varies depending on the country of origin and variety. Our chef Rosalina not only knows which variety is best-suited, she also knows how to tell how mature the avocado is and to select the best ones.<\/p>\n

While all fans of snacks and crisps love nachos, guacamole can also win over health-conscious gourmets. It contains valuable vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fatty acids. Other ingredients, such as tomatoes, onions and lemon juice, also have impressive nutritional value. Since we prepare all our guacamole freshly ourselves, the ingredients are not heated and so the vitamins and minerals are preserved. Does the obligatory avocado core positioned on the guacamole contribute the long-lasting fresh colour? It\u2019s not proven, but it’s true that Se non \u00e8 vero, \u00e8 ben trovato. (Even if it is not true, it is a good story.)<\/p>\n
